The Edge (2025)

My image for Falmouth University’s The Edge publication.

“In June 1784, the first woman to freely fly in a hot air balloon took off from Lyon in Honour of Gustav III of Sweden. Elizabeth Thible was terrified, so to distract herself began singing Arias from Le Belle Arséne, all whilst dressed as Goddess Minerva. This was one of mankind’s first experiences flying, and birdkinds first encounter with opera.”
